Hair Maintenance More Info

Our Clip in hair extensions maintenance guide.

Comb hair with Super Strands de-tangling loop brushes or use a wide toothed comb to prevent excessive pull on the hair.  Always brush before washing the hair. Wash you hair clean and then dry it completely before applying it to your head.   Allow the hair to dry naturally.

When washing the hair always use a mild shampoo and conditioner where possible and then rinse gently with lukewarm water. Do not rub vigorously.

Use Super Strands de-tangling spray or leave in conditioner to comb through the hair and always comb from the bottom of the hair first and work your way up to the root.  When the hair is wet only comb through with your fingers.

Before applying heat to the hair for straightening we recommend using a heat defense spray first to protect the hair from damage.  Also make sure your running your straighteners through the hair quickly, don't hold the straightens in one place over the hair to prevent damage.

We recommend washing them a maximum of once a month, as over washing can lead them to dry out. Unlike your own living hair, hair extensions aren't able to keep renewing its natural oils.

How to Dye / color your hair extensions

You may follow the instructions below at your own risk.  As dyes are made by different manufacturers we cannot offer any guarantees on dying them. We take no responsibility if you decide to dye the hair and it does not dye as expected. Dying the hair extensions will void any warranty. No refunds will be given on any hair that has had the colour changed.

The hair extensions can only be dyed darker by a maximum of 2 shades. They cannot  be lightened as they have already been through a chemical process and lightening them may damage the hair. (There are contradiction's to this as a lot of you have informed us you lightened their hair, however we do not take any responsibility for this if you try it)

More dye will be needed compared to when coloring your own hair (up to 2 boxes of dye per whole head of extensions). You must completely saturate the hair extensions in dye to avoid an uneven finish.
Dye a small number of strands first to test whether or not it will take to the dye.
The hair can be dyed more than once however, like your own hair, over coloring can damage the hair.
Carefully follow the dye manufacturers instructions before use.
